About Alyssa

Dr Alyssa Burns-Hill, PhD, MSc, FRSPH

I am a scientist and practitioner of health in its broadest sense.  I have worked with people around the world, helping them rediscover good health naturally as well as a better understanding of themselves.

My background in health stretches over 20 years and includes published books, articles, videos, as well as national tv appearances.

Family Life

Elyse and Shiryn are my two beautiful, grown-up daughters.  My family means the world to me and, like many women, I often put myself at the bottom of the priority list when it comes to spending time on me!  We should remind ourselves often that in order to be selfless we have to start with being selfish. In other words: remember to look after yourself and meet your own needs well so that can look after, and be there, for others!

My interests include:  walking my dog, Louis in the New Forest, yoga, meditation and continuing on this amazing journey of learning about myself and the human condition. I am also a Reiki Master.

Menopause & Wisdom

As a postmenopausal woman, I know that that there is a great deal of wisdom that goes with understanding your hormones and how they affect you.  This is why my work truly embraces the wider aspects of life and living.  The menopause can be a transition that impacts a woman from through her forties and fifties, it really can be a time of liberation and coming into your own power when you understand yourself more fully.

For absolute clarity I am not a medical doctor or a nutritionist.

I don’t work from a strict dietary approach and for the vast majority of people, I expect significant measurable progress within 6 weeks!

I enjoy working with corporates on health education matters (e.g. menopause in the workplace) and also on product development.  On that note, over the last year or so I have been working with an amazing Italian company, Comfort Zone, on their range of skincare for menopausal women, which I highly recommend.  It’s natural and beautiful.
